Since 2002, Adorn Salon and Boutique has been providing high quality services at an affordable price. We strive to create a comfortable unpretentious environment for our guests. We invite you in with a cool glass of water or warm cup of tea, allowing you to relax and leave the worries of the world behind you. Each service begins with a thorough consultation so we may best address your needs.
Originally located on Lexington Avenue, we were fortunate enough to move to the Tops for Shoes building on College Street in October of 2009. Since relocating, we have expanded our spa service offerings; including massage, facials, and nail services. Our massage services are approached with a therapeutic philosophy.
Our facials provide nourishing skin care using the highest quality organic products. Our nail services are relaxing and rejuvenating, employing the latest innovations including shellac and gel polish treatments in a clean safe environment. As always, our hair services are provided by well educated professional stylists who are passionate about their work.
Rebecca Hecht, Salon Owner, Stylist
Rebecca has been working in salon management since 1993. Having moved to Asheville in 1995, she began working in an Aveda Concept Salon in 2000, received her aesthetics certificate in 2001, and opened Adorn in July of 2002. Rebecca took herself back to school to expand her skills and has been doing hair since 2004 ... and loves it! In 2006, she became a certified technical advisor for Schwarzkopf ‘s professional education team. She travels around the southeast teaching cut and color techniques to various salons.
In her spare time, Rebecca likes to volunteer with LAAFF Festival, engage in civic activism, take on the creative world and spend quality time with her hubby and furry friends.
Amy Grove, Stylist
Amy apprenticed in Augusta, GA beginning in 1997 and got her License in 1999. She was trained in Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques, which provide her with a solid technical base in hair styling. She has had additional training with Bumble & Bumble, MOP, Schwarzkopf, Goldwell, too many hair shows to remember and plain ol' experimenting. Amy loves everything from creating super-sleek classic bobs to designing bizarre specialty wigs and everything in between.
Amy has enjoyed her years here in Asheville (since 2000) and her hobbies include live music and theatre, crafty projects, toddler and cat wrestling, landscaping, and sleeping in…
Amanda McKenzie, Stylist
An Asheville native, Amanda likes to stay close to family, friends and the beautiful mountains where she grew up. She began her career in 2005, attending Carolina College of Hair Design. Searching for new opportunities, she looked downtown. After visiting Adorn, she knew it was perfect fit. This was the environment to allow her to be free-spirited, and bring her young fresh style to blend with Adorn’s creative and eclectic atmosphere.
On her own, Amanda loves hiking, reading, music, playing piano, traveling and spending time with her dog Bella.
Andrew Williams, Stylist
Andrew began his hairstyling career after getting too many botched cuts himself. Taking his hair into his own fifteen-year-old hands, he found himself entertained by the psychological and architectural nuances of creating a flattering and original head of hair; he began trying his new hobby on fellow musicians. After a short time, requests for his new cuts became a daily occurrence. Realizing he could be a not-so-starving musician with a license in cosmetology, he began training for his license and graduated shortly after turning seventeen. Andrew's quest for a place to connect with a diverse clientele and eclectic musicians brought him to Asheville and adorn.
In his off time, he likes to write songs, study insects, and chug espresso.
Elly Carifio, Receptionist, Wedding Co-ordinator
Elly originally hails from Boston and, after living many other places, has found a permanent home in Asheville. She has an undergraduate degree in film from Tisch School of the Arts and a Masters in Elementary Education from UMass Boston. She loves lilies and strawberries.
Heather Smith, Nail Tech
In 2009 Heather Smith changed a 14-year corporate career to pursue a path in helping women and men feel great about their hands and feet. After obtaining her license in late 2009 through Asheville Buncombe Technical College she found the perfect home as the nail technician, esthetician and makeup artist at Adorn. Heather is an Asheville native, french bulldog owner, philanthropist and lover of the arts who enjoys time with friends, great meals, hot coffee, adventure walks and great movies.
Holiday Childress, Stylist
Holiday has been studying hair color and design since 2008 and is the newest addition to the Adorn family. After coming on board in July of 2011 he quickly realized he had finally found the perfect place to work and hone his craft . Natural looking color and beautiful hair design are what inspires him the most. His product and styling education include Bumble and Bumble, Wella, Schwarzkopt, Davines and Sebastian. Holiday loves to learn from his clients as much as from professional hair educators and gets joy out of helping people look and feel their best.
Being a songwriter, singer, guitarist and performer, Holiday is used to working with his hands and imagination in music as well as hair. The accomplishment he is most proud of are his two sons, Sebastian and Gabriel.
