A-dorn ~ 1: To increase the beauty of. Synonyms ~ beautify, bedeck, decorate, embellish, garnish, gild, ornament. Adorn is spiritual, referring to a beauty which is not material & cannot be put on by ornaments or decorations. 2: A unique salon, spa, and boutique in the heart of historic downtown Asheville.

It all started with a sticky note...

Founder Rebecca Hecht was scouring the town one day in search of the perfect location in which to create the salon of her desire. Nestled snugly on lower Lexington was a small, unassuming spot on which she set her sights. She scribbled a message on a sticky note & left it on the door.

The rest is history.

She has created an environment neither intimidating nor pretentious. Clients are welcomed with a hot cup of tea or cool water. Each guest receives a scalp massage before their hair cut, giving them a moment to relax into the temple-like atmosphere.

Our prices are accessible, which shows our clientele that we appreciate regular folk who work hard for their money. Each of us supports a cause of our own choosing with a give-away of our time and services.

Adorn is a co-operative environment. We feel that working together as colleagues enables each of us to respect one another as professionals.

She has had additional training with Bumble & Bumble, MOP, Schwarzkopf, Goldwell, too many hair shows to remember and plain ol' experimenting. Amy loves everything from creating super-sleek classic bobs to designing bizarre specialty wigs and everything in between.

Amanda McKenzieAmanda McKenzie, Stylist
An Asheville native, Amanda likes to stay close to family, friends and the beautiful mountains where she grew up. She began her career in 2005, attending Carolina College of Hair Design. Searching for new opportunities, she looked downtown. After visiting Adorn, she knew it was perfect fit. This was the environment to allow her to be free-spirited, and bring her young fresh style to blend with Adorn’s creative and eclectic atmosphere.

On her own, Amanda loves hiking, reading, music, playing piano, traveling and spending time with her dog Bella.

AndrewAndrew Williams, Stylist
Andrew began his hairstyling career after getting too many botched cuts himself. Taking his hair into his own fifteen-year-old hands, he found himself entertained by the psychological and architectural nuances of creating a flattering and original head of hair; he began trying his new hobby on fellow musicians. After a short time, requests for his new cuts became a daily occurrence. Realizing he could be a not-so-starving musician with a license in cosmetology, he began training for his license and graduated shortly after turning seventeen. Andrew's quest for a place to connect with a diverse clientele and eclectic musicians brought him to Asheville and adorn. In his off time, he likes to write songs, study insects, and chug espresso.
