REBECCA HECHT
Salon Owner, Stylist
Rebecca has been working in salon management since 1993. Having moved to Asheville in 1995, she began working in an Aveda Concept Salon in 2000, received her aesthetics certificate in 2001, and opened Adorn in 2002. She went back to school to expand her skills and has been doing hair since 2004. In 2006, she became a certified technical advisor for Schwarzkopf ‘s professional education team, and loves sharing her knowledge with other stylists in the southeast.
Rebecca loves all of the opportunity for creativity that hair styling provides, and loves to do everything from fun, funky cuts to very clean and structured looks, working with brides, doing fabulous color, and working with her clients to create something that is perfect for them. Since 2011, she has been dedicating much of her time to being a mother and enjoying her sweet daughter’s fleeting childhood. She also dedicates some of her time to civic activism and creating stronger community in and around Asheville.
AMANDA MCKENZIE
Stylist
Born and raised in Asheville NC, Amanda moved away and returned with a renewed sense of affection for the Blue Ridge Mountains and everything that they encompass. She is more than pleased to be back in the mountains and to have found her home at Adorn since 2006.
Through many different ventures, Amanda has been able to grow exponentially, creating a diverse range of skills. These include, but are not limited to cuts, color, wedding up-dos, dreadlocks, fashion shows, editorials and television.
By mastering these skills, she is able to provide innovative, fresh looks that keep her clients coming back for more. Now, Amanda's continuing her career as an educator for Schwarzkopf USA.
This has given her the opportunity to share her love and passion for hair by teaching color classes and assisting in fashion shows, highlighting the newest cuts and colors.
Also, by attending amazing updates from Schwarzkopf Professional, she stays on top of all the new and upcoming trends. This allows her to constantly give the best of the best to every person that sits in her chair. Amanda prides herself in being able to incorporate art, fashion and beauty to make a difference in the world, one person at a time.
KAREN QUINN
Wedding Coordinator
Karen's family were some of the salon’s first customers when they opened way back when and she is proud to now work as the wedding coordinator – which she is thoroughly enjoying!! Karen is a proud mom – she has three children – all grown up. In her spare time she and her husband love to travel. They are avid campers and hikers and love to spend time enjoying the beauty in their own backyard - the Smoky Mountains.
